SOUTHERN LIGHT, 2002
Southern Light is a contemplative painting with nine parts, in a bold presentation format that rewards with slow viewing.
The individual panels were developed with layered pentagonal geometries. Experimenting with pentagonal coordination of shapes and their spacing, (both symmetric and asymmetric elements characteristic of my work), I was seeking to sustain contrast within close hued colours and various paint applications, without losing structural stability. Compositions that show atmospheric depth and subtle rhythmic movement.
