BRIDGES, 1983 - 1984

An outline of the composition is exposed as raw linen within a white gessoed surface. Where colour brush marks cross over and stain the linen darker, the original outline becomes intermittently visible. In several of these paintings, stained circles suspended symmetrically in the raw linen, play with visual balance and focus.
