FLORA, 1999
My understanding of spatial colour relations was strongly affected by local conditions of cool light and pronounced shadows during an artist residency in Wellington, NZ. This is evident in paintings of that time, with their dense tactile surfaces and symmetry reflecting surrounding vegetation.
