FISHING SERIES, 2016-2017
Like all my work, these paintings have grown through an engagement with disparate colour fragments and how these might settle into chromatic balance, a condition that is always provisional. Choosing raw linen with a particular receptivity, acted as an intermediary for liquid paint spreads through both sides of the fabric.
When an interlacing of paint colours appears in view as dimensionally active, this can function as a feedback loop into the nature of seeing.
