Wherever two or more colours cross over each other, I look for each colour mark to enhance rather than mute adjacent hues, so that all the colours and their shapes contribute to a visually active field.
A small detail may call to mind an image or idea that echoes way beyond the initial sighting, or a group of colours can appear spatially coherent in three or more dimensions.
